Ask the Ojai Police

• Are rookie deputies automatically assigned to the Ojai station?

• It bugs me that cops, including ours, don't often signal when turning or changing lanes. Is there a reason for that?

• I live near a biz on Ojai Avenue and folks are always parking in front of my mailbox. Makes me crazy. Anything  I can do about it?

• I read of people writing about being stopped and then given an FST. Would you explain the reason(s) why this may occur during a vehicle stop?

• What can be done consistently to curtail the amount of drinking, public drunkenness, pot smoking, and general nuisance that is caused by the group of people in Libbey Park? Too many times there are dogs off leashes (pitbulls) and public drinking, underaged drinking and the smell of weed. I have called the police a few times (especially when it is attracting the attention of my kids) and I have seen them come, however, once the police leave, they come back. They are not specifically 'bad' people, however they do create non-kid friendly environment at the park. Thank you.
